2. Bernina Embroidery Software. Bernina has excellent beginner and more advanced software options. The Bernina applications are compatible with a Mac, PC, and tablet. You also get a 30-day free trial. It allows you to edit designs and create unique lettering. The downside is that the beginner's level is expensive.
3. Install Embroidery i2, an official Adobe Illustrator extension This plugin allows you to assign stitch effects and adjust embroidery parameters in vectorial files. You can either create the designs in the software or just open them. This extension will help you turn any vectorial design into an embroidery file.

For Windows® 8/ 8.1 users:

1. Position the mouse pointer in the Start screen to display the down arrow in the lower-left corner of the screen, and click it.
   ⇒ The list of applications appears.
2. Right-click PE-DESIGN 10 (Layout & Editing), which appears under the title PE-DESIGN 10 (Trial Version).
   ⇒ The taskbar appears at the bottom of the screen.
3. Click Uninstall in the taskbar to run the application as an administrator.
   ⇒ The Programs and Features window appears.
4. In the Programs and Features window, select PE-DESIGN 10 (Trial Version) and click Uninstall.
   ⇒ A dialog box appears.
5. Click Remove to uninstall the application.
   ⇒ The following message appears shortly after uninstallation begins.
6. Click Yes.
   ⇒ If the software has been successfully uninstalled, a dialog box appears.
7. Click Finish.
