The Neag Ed.D. is a part-time 41-credit program divided into three distinct phases.

  • Participants join together as members of a cohort that collaborates as a professional and academic community of practice. This cohort structure provides ongoing support within the coursework and through the capstone-writing process. Students addressing similar capstone topics will be grouped together when possible.
  • Nicole Fournier Gelston was appointed General Counsel to the University on May 25, 2018 by President Susan Herbst. As UConn’s chief legal officer, she oversees the University’s legal affairs and manages the Office of the General Counsel. The Office of the General Counsel provides legal representation and guidance.
  • Microsoft 365 is a collection of communication and productivity apps and includes Office software suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc). Through UConn's license with Microsoft, our community has access as along as they are an active employee or student. Active students at UConn have access to all the apps within Microsoft 365, except for.

Option 1 – UConn Health IT. UConn Health IT sells the Bundled Standard Desktop Package (for PC or Mac) for a monthly fee of $10, which provides you with UConn Health IT support and software updates/upgrades. In addition to the core software packages included in the bundle (shown below), you may also request adding any or all of the following.

Year One is designed to develop students’ competencies as critical consumers of educational research and students’ skills to conduct practitioner-inquiry. Students will learn about the education policy system and legal issues in the field of education. Students will consider how their problem of practice relates to the frames of Equity, Policy, Leadership, and Adult Learning.

Year Two is designed to strengthen students'understanding of qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Coursework will also advance students' knowledge of theory. Students will conduct a pilot study related to their problem of practice.
