Description

Citrix VDA CommandLine Helper tool is a graphical user interface to help Citrix administrators configuring advanced installation options for Citrix VDA for Windows.

All options from https://docs.citrix.com/en-us/citrix-virtual-apps-desktops/install-configure/install-command.html are shown using checkboxes or lists to ease their selection.

The tool is compatible with VDA versions 7.6 up to version 2103.

Prerequisites

• Microsoft .Net Framework 4.5.2 minimum

Installing Citrix VDA CommandLine Helper

1. Extract the contents of the zip file to a folder.

How to Use Citrix VDA CommandLine Helper

When launching the tool, the below screen is shown

By default, the interface is in “install” mode. If you need to create a commandline to reconfigure or uninstall the VDA, select the appropriate radio button.

Select the target VDA version, incompatible options will be grayed out.

Install mode

Select the options required to be configured during installation. Non relevant tabs and options are grayed out.

The “Controllers - Site” tab allows to configure the site GUID or up to 6 controllers the VDA will communicate with.

The “Firewall” tab allows configuration of the firewall features.

The “Excluded Components” tab allows to select the VDA components that won’t be installed. Tooltip provide additional information whenever needed for these components to exclude.

The “Include Additional” tab allows to include installation of one or more optional components. Tooltip provide additional information whenever needed

Reconfigure mode

Select the options required during reconfiguration. Non relevant tabs and options are grayed out.

The “Controllers - Site” tab allows to configure the site GUID or up to 6 controllers the VDA will communicate with.

The “Firewall” tab allows configuration of the firewall features. Only allowed options can be set in reconfigure mode.

Uninstall mode

Select the options required during reconfiguration. Non relevant tabs and options are grayed out.

General information

When the mouse is over an option, contextual help is displayed, providing additional information as shown below.

When clicking “Generate CmdLine”, the options are parsed to generate the command line options and displayed in the textbox. It is also copied to the clipboard.

When clicking “Save as batch file”, a dialogbox pops up asking for a location to save a batch file. A .cmd file is generated with the content of the textbox.
